The National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) provides standardized, inclusive coach education across Canada. Launched in 1974, the NCCP is developed by the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) in partnership with the Government of Canada, provincial/territorial governments, and national/provincial/territorial sport organizations. For more information on the coaching streams/contexts, please go to https://coach.ca/nccp-streams-and-contexts. NCCP modules are categorized as Multi-Sport Modules and Sport Specific Modules. A coach’s NCCP training usually combines both Multi-Sport and Sport Specific modules, based upon the pathway set by the national sport organization. For more information on the Multi-Sport modules delivered in Alberta and to register for a specific course, check out the NCCP Multi-Sport Module Calendar. Coaches can use their NCCP# and password to log into the CAC Locker to check their status on their coaching transcript. If you are new to coaching and do not have a NCCP#, you can create a new account before registering for any NCCP module. ### NCCP Multi-Sport Module Calendar.

# How to Become a Coach. Home » How to Become a Coach. In Alberta, Coaching takes a number of different pathways. The fundamental difference in the pathways is the age of the athlete you are coaching and their stage of development. The video below gives an overview of the pathways and coaching. The chart is how we have implemented the national coaching pathways of Athletics Canada. ## **Coaching Education Deadlines**. New deadlines have been established for your coaching education evaluations. Coaches will have one year (365 days) to complete and pass their Athletics Portfolio and Practice Observations for RJTW, Sport Coach and Club Coach. In addition, coaches who registered for their Athletics evaluations in RJTW, Sport Coach or Club Coach in the past (2024, 2023, 2022, etc) have until December 31, 2025 to complete and pass it. These new deadlines are intended to keep coaching education current and evaluations productive. National Coaching Certification Program Explained in Video.
