# Global CCS Map. If you use any information from this map, please credit Scottish Carbon Capture & Storage and include a link to our website, ***. This interactive map provides a virtual tour of carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects around the world. Smaller scale but significant pilot projects, from capture and storage to full-chain CCS, also feature. **If you use any information from this map, please credit Scottish Carbon Capture & Storage and include a link to our website, **. Zoom in close to reveal all the projects in busier areas of the map. This map is regularly updated with independently gathered, compiled and assessed project information and developments. As such, it does not represent the views of project developers, industry, government or other organisations. At SCCS, we are continually monitoring, analysing and commenting on the progress of CCS projects worldwide for the benefit of government, industry and other organisations. #### Other maps. #### arrow CCS Project Database. ###### Power Plant CCS Projects. arrow We have a number of different web pages with information on CCS projects worldwide. The database summary table contains information on the project name, the main leader of the project, feedstock, size, capture process, CO2 fate, proposed start-up date and the project's location. This database contains all other CCS projects from which the CO2 is not sourced from power plants. **Pilot Power Plant CCS Projects**. This web page is to give the reader basic information about these projects without saturating the main database. When an announced project becomes more detailed and more information is publicly available, then a project web page is created for the project and it is moved into one of the main CCS databases. There are a number of other comprehensive CCS project databases online. This web page provides links to them and other useful reports on CCS projects.

Commercial Carbon Capture Plants: International Operating CCS Projects | CCS Knowledge Centre

https://ccsknowledge.com/carbon-management-101/international-ccs-projects/

# Commercial Carbon Capture Plants: International Operating CCS Projects. Operating capture facilities are presented below, including their capture capacity, the technology used and their location. The largest operating carbon capture project is the Petrobras Santos Basin Pre-Salt Oil Field, a pre-combustion facility located in Brazil. * **North America** — Capture capacity of 30.19 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) at 24 commercial plants located in the USA and Canada. * **South America** — Capture capacity of 14.20 Mtpa at one commercial plant. * **Asia** — Capture capacity of 11.05 Mtpa at 18 commercial plants located in China, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. * **Oceania** — Capture capacity of 5.80 Mtpa at three commercial plants in Australia and New Zealand. * **Europe** — Capture capacity of 2.66 Mtpa at five commercial plants located in Norway, Hungary and Croatia. Operational CCS technologies with the greatest capture capacities to date are pre-combustion and post-combustion, respectively.

Create a free IEA account to download our reports or subcribe to a paid service. # CCUS Projects Explorer. Covers all large-scale CO2 capture, transport, storage, and utilisation projects commissioned or in planning worldwide. ### A worldwide database of CCUS projects. The IEA established this dataset as part of its efforts to track advances in carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS). It covers all CO2 capture, transport, storage, and utilisation projects worldwide that have been commissioned since the 1970s, and have an announced capacity of more than 100 000 t per year (or 1 000 t per year for direct air capture facilities). The database complements other technology-related tracking efforts, such as the Hydrogen Projects database and the Clean Energy Demonstration Projects Database. ##### CCUS Projects Database. If you have any feedback or questions, or would like to suggest a specific project to be added to the database, please contact: ccsinfo@iea.org.
