October 28, 2025 update: Find provincial online learning schools, K-12 online programs and courses, and the Interim Online Learning Procedures Guide (governance) on Online Learning BC. **Online learning** is a classroom alternative for students who are ordinarily resident in B.C. It used to be called distributed learning. **Flexibility for students.** Students can sign up for online learning with their District Online Learning School (check your school district’s website), or a Provincial Online Learning School:. **Learning from home.** B.C. has a long history of helping students learn from home successfully. Online learning continues to provide a flexible option for students to learn from home that meets provincial education standards. Find out how online learning is different from homeschooling. ## How to sign up for online learning. Enrol in online learning by contacting an online school. If you're interested in teaching online,check with schools or districts that offer online learning to find out about job opportunities and requirements.
