All of our Free Online Learning courses are short (6-14 hours), self-study, and use applied learning activities to ensure you takeaway tools that will enhance your life. This course is assembled with lived experience from BCIT’s Applied Research, School of Transportation and industry partners, as well as with survey data from BCIT’s nationwide survey around barriers to EV adoption. Road transportation accounts for 20% of Canada’s total greenhouse emissions; this course, by building awareness and public confidence around EV ownership can assist Canadian understand EV adoption while assisting Canada meet its 2035 target of all new light-duty vehicle sales to be a zero-emission vehicle. * If you are new to BCIT you will first need to create a BCIT account before registering for your course. 1. Adult Basic Education and English Language Learning programs are tuition-free for domestic students at 18 public post-secondary institutions in British Columbia. Taking high school courses can help with various educational paths – improving literacy and numeracy skills, working towards high school graduation, and upgrading for work or for entrance into a post-secondary program. Many public post-secondary institutions (colleges and universities) offer tuition-free adult upgrading courses under program names such as Adult Basic Education, Access Programs or Academic Upgrading. The Adult Education Policy Framework provides an overview of the context and policy objectives of the adult upgrading programs in the public post-secondary system. Low-income students taking Adult Upgrading programs at public post-secondary institutions may be eligible. The Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills invests $3.4 million annually to support the Community Adult Literacy Program (CALP). CALP funding is allocated to community organizations, Indigenous organizations, and public post-secondary institutions to deliver adult, family and Indigenous literacy programming across British Columbia.
