Benefits to Youth Youth who participate in the Youth Job Connection program:  Receive 60 – 90 hours of pre‐employment training, workshops and activities to prepare them for the workplace where they learn about their strengths and values, develop workplace and life skills and receive help finding work  Are PAID a non‐taxable stipend of $11.40/hour for the duration of the pre‐employment training Receive support from Conestoga Career Centre staff for the duration of the program including their placement  Participate in a PAID placement with a local employer dedicated to providing a supportive learning environment Eligibility for Youth Job Connection Youth must be:  15 – 29 years old at the time they register into the Youth Job Connection Program who want to find work  Unemployed: youth working precarious employment may be considered for the program on a case‐to‐case basis  Not in school full time o Students under 18 must be on a SAL to be excused from school or must participate in the reduced “Summer” version of the program which is 20 – 30 hours (see below)  Eligible to work in Canada The YJC “Summer” version of the program runs year‐round for students 15 – 18 who are seeking year‐round part‐time and/or summer work.
