When the SDG monitoring framework was first established in 2016, only one third of indicators had good data coverage, and 39 per cent lacked internationally agreed methodologies. Today, almost 70 per cent have good coverage, and all 234 indicators now have well-established methodologies. SDG data availability shows encouraging overall progress between 2019 and 2025 but with persistent gaps in key areas. Goal 3 (Good health and well-being), Goal 6 (Clean water and sanitation), Goal 7 (Affordable [...] the report does not represent a prioritization of targets, since all goals and targets are equally important. The “SDG Extended Report 2025”, available online2, includes additional analysis, full references and expanded stories from custodian agencies that could not be included in the report due to space limitations. Data sources The values for most of the indicators presented in the report are regional and/or subregional aggregates. In general, the figures are weighted averages, using the [...] State of the Global Climate 2024 report, which combines six international data sets for temperature: HadCRUT.5.0.1.0 (UK Met Office), NOAAGlobalTemp v5 (USA), NASA GISTEMP v4 (USA), Berkeley Earth (USA), ERA5 (ECMWF) and JRA-55 (Japan).

Since 2016, the Sustainable Development Report (SDR) has provided the most up-to-date data available to track and rank the performance of all UN member states on the SDGs. Eighty years after the creation of the UN system, the report also provides improved and updated measures to track countries' efforts to support UN-based multilateralism. In total, more than 200,000 individual data points are used to produce 200+ country and regional SDG profiles. This year's edition was authored by a group of [...] (SDG 9), access to electricity (SDG 7), internet use (SDG 9), under-5 mortality rate (SDG 3), and neonatal mortality (SDG 3) [...] The report was coordinated by Guillaume Lafortune in cooperation with Jeffrey D. Sachs. Lead writers are Jeffrey D. Sachs, Guillaume Lafortune, Grayson Fuller, and Guilherme Iablonovski. The statistical work was led by Grayson Fuller, with support from Guilherme Iablonovski, Sara Allali, and Samory Touré. The Centre combines data science and participatory methods to map and evaluate low-carbon initiatives, generating robust evidence about what works, where, and for whom. These insights support stronger government decision-making and demonstrate how decarbonisation linked with regeneration can deliver social benefits (13.3). reports that come from uh from the sector so this is something that we wanted to preserve and we've published them as you see in the web page here so you can see all this extended stories uh uh uh for for the report. Uh the second one which is a main source for our uh report is the indicator SD indicator database. Uh this is more than a database but the actual data that we use for uh for the report comes from here. This is also submitted. The data is collected as you know we we don't uh take [...] we also basically label it clearly in the report. Next slide please. I will explain how we choose uh data series to include in the progress assessment. If you look at the figure on the right of the slide, this explains um the information architecture of the global indicator framework of the SDG. Uh the 2030 agenda itself has 17 goals, 169 targets, 234 unique indicators and then those indicators are further divided into about 500 data series and then each data series are further uh disagregated [...] according uh to the fundamental principle official statistics and provide the data and metadata to the international agency uh for global reporting and uh the international agency which we call consulting agency provide internationally comparable data uh in the different statistical domains and then they calculate the global and regional aggregates and provide uh the country, regional and global data and also company uh metadata uh to the UN statistical division for the uh global monitoring and
