Fully online programs are not eligible for study permit support or PGWP (Post-Graduation Work Permit). ### Part-Time and Short-Term studies. Part-time and short-term studies are not eligible for study permit support or PGWP (Post-Graduation Work Permit). VCC's apprenticeship programs and courses are not open to international students, as they typically require registration with SkilledTradesBC and are intended for Canadian citizens and permanent residents. International students interested in trades at VCC should look for programs that are explicitly marked as accepting international students via the VCC Program Availability Chart. These may include foundation programs that lead into potential future apprenticeships for those who later become permanent residents, or other full-time trades programs designed for international students.

**From post-secondary institutions:** Many post-secondary institutions in British Columbia offer scholarships, bursaries and other financial awards available to students to study abroad as part of an academic program. **From other countries and institutions:** Students from B.C. may be eligible for financial awards offered by governments and institutions in a country where they choose to study. **Chinese Government Scholarship:** The Chinese government offers scholarships to students from British Columbia to study at a Chinese university. The scholarships are provided to graduating secondary school students and students enrolled in post-secondary studies in undergraduate, master's and doctoral degree programs at eligible post-secondary institutions. Eligibility criteria and further information about the Chinese Government Scholarship Program are available on the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Vancouver website. NOTE: Successful applicants for the Chinese Government Scholarship Program can apply for the student visa and go study in China.

The UBC President Bursary program was set up to support grade 11 high school students in British Columbia to attend UBC Future Global Leaders. BC Teachers may apply for a bursary for the full tuition amount for Summer Intensives in French. Funding is provided by the Government of Canada and administered by UBC Extended Learning for the French Education Branch of the BC Ministry of Education. The StrongerBC future skills grant (FSG), is open to most British Columbian residents aged 19 years or older – regardless of financial need – and covers up to $3,500 in eligible short-term skills training at public post-secondary institutions. Up to $5,000 is available to BC government employees through this scholarship program for professional development programs that align with the BC Public Service’s current and future needs. The Career Paths for Skilled Immigrants program supports permanent residents in returning to their pre-landing professions by covering the cost of approved courses for credential recognition, bridging and skills enhancement.
