# Programs for Board Directors. ## Education for Board Directors. The Haskayne School of Business delivers two Directors Education Programs (DEP) jointly developed by the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) and the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. The ICD is the only professional organization representing the director community in Canada. It is committed to the universal practice of good corporate governance by fostering excellence in directorship. ### **Directors Education Program (DEP)**. This program is the gold standard for directors’ education in Canada and is a necessary step toward receiving ICD accreditation as a certified corporate director. It is held in four three-day modules and is designed for experienced board directors. Over the last decade of delivering outstanding Board Governance education, we have accumulated expertise in providing customized development to executive teams and/or boards. Such specific education has proven to facilitate better working within the board and between the board and the executive.

GPC.D is a recognized Canadian designation attained by completing the ‘Governance in Practice’ Program. The program was created to help strengthen the skills of those who practice governance, to assist their boards and organizations in enhancing their overall governance processes. Those with GPC.D designations will set themselves apart with employers, boards and key stakeholders as leading governance professionals. The Governance in Practice Education Program consists of 3 courses – Foundations of Governance, Applied Governance and Strategic Governance. The program content is applicable to all type of organizations, across all industry sectors and jurisdictions, with a focus on the practical, hands-on role of governance professionals. Although not mandatory, because of the structure of the program, it is in the student’s best interest to take the course in order – Foundations of Governance, Applied Governance & Strategic Governance.
