# Fee changes. We update our fees to cover some of the costs of our immigration and citizenship programs. This page lists some recent fee changes and explains what to do if you paid an old fee by mistake. ## Recent fee changes. Find a list of our recent fee changes and related instructions. 2026 fee changes **2026-04-30: Permanent residence fee increase** On April 30, 2026, fees will increase for all permanent residence applications. | Program | Applicants | Old Fee | New fee as of April 30, 2026 |. Our removal fees for people removed on or after April 1, 2025 increased on April 1, 2026. | Repayment of removal expenses | Old fee | New fee |. The right of citizenship fee increased on March 31, 2026. Our removal fees changed on April 1, 2025. If you paid the old fee for your application, we’ll ask you to pay the difference and tell you how to submit your receipt.
# Canadian Immigration Government Processing Fees. Canada Visa Processing Fees 1. ## Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) requires that Canadian immigration applicants pay government processing fees when they submit their applications. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) fees are currently subject to increase every two years for all applications for permanent residence, including the economic, permit holder, family and humanitarian classes, to keep pace with inflation. Canadian government fees must be submitted concurrently with your Canadian Immigration Application and are refundable at any time before assessment of the application by a Canadian Immigration Visa Officer has begun. The Right of Permanent Residence Fee may be paid at any time prior to the issuance of your Canada Immigration (Permanent Resident) Visa and is refundable if, for any reason, you do not become a Canadian Permanent Resident. All applications for Canadian Permanent Resident Visas are submitted to designated intake offices in Canada and the government processing fees associated with these applications must be paid in Canadian dollars.
