The Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS) program provides funding to organizations to produce a range of activities that help youth overcome barriers to employment and develop a broad range of skills and knowledge in order to participate in the current and future labor market. One of the most known programs linked to the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy is the Canada Summer Jobs program. * **Skills Link Funding for Youth Employment**. The Skills Link program is a component of the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment Strategy (YES). Through funding for organizations, the Skills Link program helps youth overcome barriers to employment, develop a broad range of skills and knowledge in order to participate in the current and future labour market and to promote education and skills as being key to labour market participation. Employer Training Grant provides funding to small, medium and large enterprises to support skills training for their workforces, including prospective new hires. The intent of this program is to help British Columbians access the skills training required to adapt to the labour market’s changing job requirements, while also encouraging employer involvement in skills training. \*Important: Please apply early to help ensure you receive a decision on your application before the training start date. If training begins and the application is denied, the employer will be responsible for all costs. \*\* For employers looking to hire workers that have been directly or indirectly impacted by local economic disruptions, such as tariffs or mass layoffs in forestry or other sectors, the ETG may support training for participants employed by another employer at the time of application.
