2026, Construction and Building Materials Show abstract Coir is a natural lignocellulosic fibre used in the manufacture of woven and non-woven geotextiles, which are extensively used in geotechnical and pavement engineering applications. The manufacturing of coir geotextiles predominantly utilizes long fibres greater than 60 mm, whereas short fibres less than 60 mm are generally treated as waste due to processing limitations. The present study aims to develop a coir composite by integrating [...] by integrating short and long fibres using the needle felt technique. Needle Felt Coir Polymer Composite (NFCPC) was manufactured by replacing long fibres with short fibres at varying proportions of 10%, 20%, and 30%.
