Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 50 languages, although an impressive number, this does not capture all languages or dialects. Elementary Virtual Learning Academy (VLA) is *not remote learning*, but instead it’s a home-based platform-supported learning opportunity for students and parents in grades 3-5. Students in this program will be learning from home for about five and a half hours per day. Due to the highly independent nature of VLA, this program is designed for students who are exceptionally motivated and have the stamina to commit nearly 28 hours per week to learning from home. Students will meet with their advisor during virtual group labs two times a week to address learning goals, social emotional lessons, and other advisor-determined group needs. VLA is for students who are looking for more flexibility in their schedule, self-paced learning, a personalized learning environment, individualized learning plans, accessibility to online educational content, and one-on-one support with teachers in a smaller environment. To stay enrolled in VLA, students need to have regular attendance and attend class once a week, make progress in their online courses based on their Written Student Learning Plan to meet graduation requirements.
