Contributions of residential traffic noise to depression and mental wellbeing in Hong Kong: A prospective cohort study

We included 13,401 participants in our study, with ages ranging from 15 to 100 years. The prevalence of probable depression was 4.0%, and the mean MCS was 53.6 (standard deviation (SD): 7.7) at baseline (wave 1). At wave 2, 2.2% of the participants had incident probable depression. The mean difference in MCS between the two waves in our study population was −0.22 (SD: 9.5).
